5 Things I Discovered in 2019

2019-discoveries.jpeg

Here are 5 things I discovered in 2019 that I did not know I needed in my life, but will always be a part of my life from now on.  This blog post is not sponsored.  This is simply some items that I discovered in 2020 that are now a part of my life.  May you find some comfort and joy in these items just as I did.

  1.  Starbucks Bantam Bagels. I am mad at all of my friends who knew about these but never shared. A bite sized bagel pre-filled with cream cheese? Talk about breakfast on the go. A quick filling bite before work, before a meeting, before the morning hangry kicks in. These are so good and when they and warmed up they simply warm the heart. They are now a favorite on my Starbucks App.103920273-BL-0907-BAGELS
  2. Laundry Pods. Why didn’t anyone ever tell me about laundry Pods? I am completely infatuated. These make laundry so easy for me. When I head down to do laundry I can simply throw a few pods in my pocket and not have to worry about maneuvering my clothes as well as detergent. The pods make laundry day just a tad bit easier to navigate. Where have they been all my life? And if you are into savings Tide and Proctor & Gamble  and other companies are great for Sunday coupons for savings. No more lugging liquid detergent for me. Pods to the rescue! Laundry Pods
    3.  Starbucks Medicine Ball. Well this is not really a medicine ball or a medicine anything, however this immune boosting tea not only tastes great it gives you a little comfort that you are defending yourself from office, public transportation or any other cooties you may come in contact with. Starbucks4.  Instacart I keep saying that technology is making us lazier. From food delivery to now grocery delivery. I can even get delivery from Target. I should have never learned that I can sit on my couch order groceries in my pajamas and have someone deliver them to my door. I didn’t have to put on a bra or makeup or lotion. I just sat on the couch ordered my groceries and in a few hours they were there. No the biggest issue I have with this is that I don’t get to browse the aisles and grab all the stuff I don’t need or won’t eat. Is that really a bad thing. instacart-logo
    5.  Oreo Thins I grew up eating Oreos. And there is nothing like Oreos and a glass of ice cold milk. My mouth is watering just typing this. Recently I discovered Oreo thins. Less creamy middle and just enough to get all of the flavor of an Oreo without all the cookie and extra filling. I’m in love. Now if they would only make the red velvet in thins as well.oreo thins

These are just a few things that made my 2019 a lot better.  What things did you discover in 2019 that made life better for you?  Please share in the comments.

Brunch and Style Party @ Style Room 326

Style Room 326 Brunch and Style

I spent the first weekend of this year at the Brunch and Style Party at Style Room 326Style Room 326 is the first of its kind members only wholesale, retail fashion showroom for women.  Owner Teresa Wilkes Washington hosted a group of fashionable, professional women for an afternoon of brunch, mimosas and fashion conversation.  It was an awesome experience.

Each participant was asked to bring an item of clothing that they had not worn.  Teresa and the other women in attendance provided excellent fashion advice on how to style the pieces and offered suggestions on how and where to best wear the selected items.  It was like having a group of your closest best friends in your closet helping you pull outfits together.  Did I mention that there was also endless mimosas?

In addition to talk about fashion and proper foundational garments (all of us women need that conversation at least once or twice in our lives), there was a makeup artist on hand to assist us in trying out different looks with our makeup.  Honestly, no matter how old you are what women doesn’t enjoy playing or experimenting in makeup from time to time.  Remember the mimosas?

All of us let the event with wonderful parting gifts which included a membership to the showroom.  I will definitely be using my membership this year.  There are some excellent options and the opportunity to shop in an environment where there are no crowds or overbearing sales people makes the shopping experience more enjoyable for me.  If that is your type of shopping I recommend that you stop by Style Room 326.  I cannot guarantee that there will be mimosas, but there were mimosas at the Brunch and Style Event.

If you have never been to Style Room 326, I suggest you go by, take a look at the amazing fashion they have and sign up for your membership.  The membership is affordable, so don’t worry about breaking the bank.  If you follow Teresa or the showroom on social media you will always see Teresa modeling pieces that are available in the showroom, pieces that you will not see on everyone.

Style Room 326 offers many benefits to its members.  The ability to gain first access to exclusive fashion shows, shopping for classic, timeless pieces for your wardrobe and the ability to do so in an environment that evokes fabulous is what Style Room 326 offers.  Teresa has done an amazing job of curating a fashion experience, that will have you coming back for more and waiting for the hottest new arrivals.  If you have a passion for fashion, then Style Room 326 should be at the top of your shopping list.

Style Room 326 is located at 1722 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago or visit their website http://www.styleroom326.com
