5 Things I Discovered in 2019

Here are 5 things I discovered in 2019 that I did not know I needed in my life, but will always be a part of my life from now on.  This blog post is not sponsored.  This is simply some items that I discovered in 2020 that are now a part of my life.  May you find some comfort and joy in these items just as I did.

  1.  Starbucks Bantam Bagels. I am mad at all of my friends who knew about these but never shared. A bite sized bagel pre-filled with cream cheese? Talk about breakfast on the go. A quick filling bite before work, before a meeting, before the morning hangry kicks in. These are so good and when they and warmed up they simply warm the heart. They are now a favorite on my Starbucks App.103920273-BL-0907-BAGELS
  2. Laundry Pods. Why didn’t anyone ever tell me about laundry Pods? I am completely infatuated. These make laundry so easy for me. When I head down to do laundry I can simply throw a few pods in my pocket and not have to worry about maneuvering my clothes as well as detergent. The pods make laundry day just a tad bit easier to navigate. Where have they been all my life? And if you are into savings Tide and Proctor & Gamble  and other companies are great for Sunday coupons for savings. No more lugging liquid detergent for me. Pods to the rescue! Laundry Pods
    3.  Starbucks Medicine Ball. Well this is not really a medicine ball or a medicine anything, however this immune boosting tea not only tastes great it gives you a little comfort that you are defending yourself from office, public transportation or any other cooties you may come in contact with. Starbucks4.  Instacart I keep saying that technology is making us lazier. From food delivery to now grocery delivery. I can even get delivery from Target. I should have never learned that I can sit on my couch order groceries in my pajamas and have someone deliver them to my door. I didn’t have to put on a bra or makeup or lotion. I just sat on the couch ordered my groceries and in a few hours they were there. No the biggest issue I have with this is that I don’t get to browse the aisles and grab all the stuff I don’t need or won’t eat. Is that really a bad thing. instacart-logo
    5.  Oreo Thins I grew up eating Oreos. And there is nothing like Oreos and a glass of ice cold milk. My mouth is watering just typing this. Recently I discovered Oreo thins. Less creamy middle and just enough to get all of the flavor of an Oreo without all the cookie and extra filling. I’m in love. Now if they would only make the red velvet in thins as well.oreo thins

These are just a few things that made my 2019 a lot better.  What things did you discover in 2019 that made life better for you?  Please share in the comments.

Easy High Protein Lunch

So it is no secret that in 2016 I had weight loss surgery.  And while I am still not at my goal weight, I have had to make a lifetime of adjustments to what and how I eat.  Most weigh loss doctors promote a high protein, low carb, low calorie diet.  So here is a quick and simple and filling lunch that you can make in less than 5 minutes.

Actually, there are only 2 ingredients.  How you dress it up is up to you.

Starkist Tuna Creations (18g of protein)

Boiled Egg (6g of protein)

I empty the Tuna Creation packet (I like Lemon Pepper and Spicy Thai the best).  Then I peel my eggs (normally I have 2) and slice them.  I like presentation, so I make it look pretty.  There is actually nothing else for you to do.

However I am hypertensive and I try to stay away from salt.  So what I do is experiment with spices.  When it comes to this particular lunch the tuna is packed with flavor, so I typically add paprika (for a hint of heat) and dried minced onion for a little crunch and a punch of flavor.  The minced onion also keeps the overpowering smell of onion at bay if you are making this at work for lunch.

Whatever flavor you like, just experiment with the flavors and see how you create a taste to your liking.

This simple recipe can also be eaten over a salad or with raw fresh veggies on the side.  It is very filling and more than anything else very flavorful.  I do not add mayo, relish or anything that I would add to a tuna salad.  Plain, simple easy and healthy.

If you try this recipe out let me know how you make yours.

Until Next Time!

Be Blessed, Be Fabulous
