The Year of Yes!

YEear of yeS

As I reflected on the past year, I decided that 2015 was a year of a lot of no’s in my life.  There were so many things that happened, the good, the and the ugly, that by the time December rolled around I was just waiting for my fresh start.  Right after Thanksgiving, I went to see Frankie Beverly and Maze and Chaka Khan concert.  During the show, while Frankie was singing Happy Feelings, I made up my mind that that was what I wanted 2016 to be.

Not only would “Happy Feelings” be my theme song for 2016, but for me 2016 would be the Year of Yes!  For most of my life, I made cautious decisions, I always needed to consider the what if’s and most of the time this meant that I missed out on opportunities and other advantages.   allowed fear and doubt to govern my decisions.  Those days are over.

Before the year ended I made two decisions that took me completely out of my comfort zone.  Those decisions were not life of death decisions but they allowed me experiences I may not have had before I embraced The Year of Yes.

So I sent my closest friends a text decided that we were going to read the book individually and collectively spend the year living out our Year of Yes.  I am looking forward to what that means for me.  I am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that will come my way.  I anticipate what will happen in my life.  I have already seen great advantages from stepping out of my comfort zone and I plan to do more this year.  So here’s to “Happy Feelings” while living our Year of Yes!

Stay Fabulous and Stay Blessed!

Wrapping Up

Sound Off Sunday

This is the last Sunday of the year and a perfect time to Sound Off.  This has been a year of personal ups and downs for me, but it has been a great year for This Single Sole.  The blog continues to grow daily and my social media following is also growing.  What a great testimony for the end of the year.  I am happy that I had the opportunity to experience some great events, meet some great people and make some new connections and friendships.

As we move into a new year, look for major changes in the This Single Sole community.  We are in the process of completing a total revamping of the blog.  From the logo to the focus.  Don’t worry, you will still see the same amazing content and more great content, but look for This Single Sole to move into a new space, a space that provides a better fit not only for the blog but for the creator as well.

As we rap up 2015, I am thankful for the new opportunity as well as the campaigns that came my way.  I look forward to expanding these partnerships as well as developing new partnerships as we move into 2016.  As we put the final touches on the Makeover of the blog expect BIG things in the coming year.

It is my sincere prayer that everyone looks forward to new and exciting things in the coming year and that 2016 will be the best year ever!  Stay tuned.
